Professional & educational background: First as Chief Financial Officer, then Chief Operating Officer and now as Chief Executive Officer, Hyland has overseen key growth and achievements at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She was an instrumental player in the 1998 Egleston Children's Health Care System and Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center merger, which led to the formation of what is now one of the top three pediatric hospitals in the country. She also helped transition Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital into the Children's family in 2006. Hyland is currently the only female CEO among the top 25 hospitals in Atlanta, and she is one of only five female CEOs of pediatric hospitals nationwide, according to the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI). Prior to joining Children's, Hyland was employed by American Medical International.
