| | | (click for larger version) | | August 27, 2008 A Cumming resident has been reported missing in Florida, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said Wednesday.
The woman, 44-year-old Hope Kay Stern of Browns Bridge Road, recently traveled to Florida City, Fla., in hopes of finding employment there. According to her boyfriend, who lives in Forsyth County, she was last seen on Aug. 15 when she checked out of a Travel Lodge motel in which she had been staying.
Capt. Paul Taylor, commander of the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, said Stern spoke last with her boyfriend on Aug. 19. She has not been heard from since.
Stern is described as a white female, 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds. She has red hair and green eyes. She was driving a 2002 black Land Rover Discovery.
Florida City is located in Miami-Dade County, near the Everglades National Park.
