Showing one of the qualities that earned him Alpharetta's Employee of the Quarter award, Web manager Michael Riddle donated the $100 check that goes with the honor to the Alpharetta Police Athletic League.
Assistant City Administrator James Drinkard agreed with his boss, Bob Regus, that the city has 425 outstanding employees. But he said Riddle sets the bar very high.
The Web site has evolved considerably since he got here," Drinkard said.
The new design is more user friendly, which is important because it is the main method the city uses to communicate with its residents.
"It's very important that the site is constantly updated," Drinkard said.
That's something Riddle does not just during work hours, but also on weekends, nights and vacations. That kind of dedication might make it difficult for Riddle to take the extra day off the award also earned him.
Riddle just said it was a team effort before saying he wanted to donate his check.
