CUMMING -- Cumming Mayor Ford Gravitt wants Forsyth County Commission Chairman Charles Laughinghouse to clarify a letter he sent seeking an intergovernmental agreement on a water project.
"The county has reneged on intergovernmental agreements in the past, they're not to be trusted," Gravitt said. "I specifically want to know what they're talking about."
He asked staff to follow up and obtain precise details about the requested agreement.
Despite a $54 difference, on July 15 the Cumming City Council voted to approve the higher priced contract for work on its 2008 Fall and Winter brochure. Though Sull Graphics in Roswell had the lower bid, with $3,820, the council went with Cumming's very own Corporate Printers at $3,874.
"I'd like to keep that money here, in the county," said Gravitt.
The Cumming Fairgrounds announced several upcoming events, including:
• The Mt. Pisgah Church Car Show – Aug. 23, will showcase 150-200 antique cars.
• IPRA World Championship Rodeo – Aug. 29-31, events including: bull riding, bare back riding, barrel racing, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping and saddle bronco riding.
• The Cumming Country Fair & Festival – Oct. 2-12, annual event is in planning.
