The Forsyth County Board of Education recently approved the following personnel decisions:
• Laurie Cole was appointed to be Assistant Principal of Little Mill MS for the 2008-09 school year. Cole has served as graduation coach at Little Mill as well as a special education teacher and department chair at Vickery Creek MS. Prior to coming to Forsyth County, Cole taught high school special education in Fulton County and worked in the business world. Cole holds a Bachelor's degree from Auburn University and a Master's from Kennesaw State University.
• Cindy Sanford was appointed to be Quality Work Facilitator at Shiloh Point ES for the 2008-09 school year. Sanford has served as a second grade teacher and mentor at Sawnee ES. Prior to coming to Forsyth County, Sanford worked as an on-site curriculum specialist for the South Carolina Department of Education, Jasper County School System in Ridgeland, South Carolina, and the Dawson County School System. Sanford was also Primary Teacher of the Year for the state of South Carolina.
• Jinny Tidwell was appointed to be Assistant Principal of Cumming ES for the 2008-09 school year. Tidwell has served as a social studies teacher in Dawson County and as a special education teacher in Barrow County. Tidwell holds a Bachelor's from Shorter College, a Master's from North Georgia College and State University and a Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial. Tidwell was Teacher of the Year for the Dawson County School System and is a graduate of Cumming ES.
