ALPHARETTA -- Alpharetta police arrested a 36-year-old Milton woman June 18 after she became irate when her friend's child did not get right amount of game tickets at the Chuckie Cheese on North Point Parkway.
According to the incident report, the situation arose when a video game began to malfunction and stopped giving out the right amount of tickets, which are redeemed for prizes.
The technical manager shut the machine down and gave the last child playing it about 800 tickets, when at most the machine is designed to give out 20.
The woman told the manager of the restaurant that wasn't fair and reportedly insisted he give her friend's son 2,000 tickets "because he desrved it." She said he shouldn't be punished for the machine's malfunction.
The manager reportedly tried to reason with her, but she got angry and allegedly began using profanities. That when the manager called police.
Officers arrived and tried to talk to the child who had been wronged by the machine, but the woman kept screaming "You will talk to me, I'm the adult." She also insisted the manager only gave the child eight tickets to appease her, when the child told police it was actually 20.
The mother accused the police of being racist when they told her to calm down. In addition, she told the officers on scene that a television news team was on the way to document the situation.
After being asked to clam down several times, the woman was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. According to the police report, on her way out, she allegedly screamed, "You can't do this," and several obscene phrases in full view of the many chldren in the restaurant.
