A dramatic narrative of the Civil War is being played out by the Gypsy Theatre Company with performances at the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Amphitheatre in Cumming through June 29.
"Gone for a Soldier: Voices of the American Civil War" dramatizes the historical events that took place in Atlanta and Georgia during the Civil War. Drawn from letters, news items, first person narratives and campaign histories, "Gone for a Soldier" portrays the war through the experiences of two young friends who fought on separate sides of the conflict.
The production stars Cumming actor Kane Miller, and Patrick Schambach of Marietta.
Performances are Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The cost is $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors.
