ALPHARETTA -- In May, Alpharetta took delivery of two new fire engines and a ladder truck. The trucks, built in Appleton, Wis., by Pierce Manufacturing, were purchased by a lease-purchase contract at a cost of $1.7 million to replace aging apparatus in the city's fleet.
The two pumpers are housed at Stations 1 and 5 and the ladder truck at Station 1.
"We had a need to replace selected fire engines due to age," said Public Safety Director Gary George. "These newly acquired fire engines will serve our citizens well, and I am grateful to our city leaders for the purchase of these items."
