June 09, 2008 SAVANNAH -- A Savannah grand jury has indicted the Roswell couple taken into custody in May for allegedly selling pharmaceuticals over the Internet without a license.
The allegedly business brought in nearly $9 million a year, said police.
According to a release from the office of Edward W. Booth, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, Jennifer and Christian Navoy were charged in a seven-count indictment.
They are accused of conspiracy to sell misbranded drugs across state lines, conspiracy to sell drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
The Navoys allegedly operated three Web sites -- researchchemist.com, pumpnpose.com and syntholdirect.com -- between 2002 and May 2008 and sold drugs containing Sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient in Viagra.
As part of the indictment, the government seeks the forfeiture of four properties in Georgia and Florida, 11 vehicles and $78,887 in cash.
The Navoys were taken into Federal custody May 13 after Roswell police raided their home in the upscale Sentinel on the River neighborhood. Lt. James McGee, a spokesman for the Roswell Police Department, said the raid was the culmination of a three- to four-month investigation by the FDA, the United States Postal Inspection Service, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Roswell police.
McGee said the department had originally gotten a tip about the operation, and that started the investigation. He would not say what exactly was found in the home or whether a lab used to produce the drugs was created on the nearly $1-million property.

I used to work with Chris at Ft Walton Beach, Florida. I heard him boast about "selling steroids over the Internet" several times.
