Alpharetta artist Debra Messing Svitil of Alpharetta was recently chosen to create a quilt highlighting First Lady Laura Bush's dedication to furthering education, especially children's literacy.
Svitil was invited to the Congressional Club's 100th Anniversary First Lady's Luncheon in Washington D.C. on April 17 to be a part of the quilt presentation.
Syitil has a quilting and art studio in her home. She has shown her work in several local venues and in international shows, including the International Quilt Festival in Houston.
