Alpharetta Girl Scout Troop 3315 received a lesson in geography and what U.S. soldiers like to snack on at a recent field trip to Alpharetta's American Legion Post. The girls, along with their troop leader and two moms, made the trip from Findley Oaks Elementary School to pack boxes of goodies for soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. During their afternoon, they read some letters from soldiers serving in combat zones, learned the geography of the region, and spoke to two Georgia National Guard soldiers recently returned from Iraq.
The American Legion Post 201 has shipped approximately 550 boxes to Georgia service members.
