The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performs at the new venue off Encore Parkway near Westside Parkway on May 10. Just a few days later, the Eagles begin their four-date visit starting Tuesday, May 14.
Approximately 7,000 seats will be under the roof at the 12,000-seat venue, with another 5,000 on the event lawn. Those concertgoers on the lawn can either bring a blanket or rent special lawn chairs designed for the steep event lawn that won't obstruct other ticket holders' views.
Don Fox, vice president for Business Development and chief financial officer for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, said the seats are 21 inches wide. Enough legroom exists between rows that most people will be able to walk without seated concert-goers having to stand up to let them by.
Concrete was still being poured for part of the seating area under roof. Concession and box office buildings were built, with interior work remaining.

Awesome! April 15, 2008 | 11:29 AM
I hope there will be adult and kids shows alike at this venue. Also, it would be great if residence could get a head start on tickets!
