April 07, 2008 A spring fundraiser and pet adoption for Castaway Critters Pet Rescue will be held Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Foster's Grille, 12540 Broadwell Road in Historic Crabapple.
The event includes a book signing by Ansley Burnette, author of "Frisco Finds a Forever Home," a book about a stray dog that finds a forever home, and a jewelry sale by Nona Case of New Creations, which offers unique handmade jewelry. All proceeds from the book and jewelry sales will go directly to Castaway Critters, and Foster's Grille will donate part of the day's proceeds to the animal rescue group.
Castaway Critters Pet Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group with a shelter in Blairsville. The rescue takes in dogs and cats from local animal control shelters from all over Georgia, abandoned animals, strays and any animal that needs a home.
The adoption fee is $125 for dogs and $85 for cats. All animals are spayed or neutered, and have all necessary shots at the time of adoption. The fundraiser helps pay for costs for caring for these homeless animals.
