April 07, 2008 FULTON COUNTY -- Let there be water. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved commencing construction of new water towers in the cities of Milton and Roswell.
Given the go ahead by commissioners, the Fulton County Public Works department will hire Landmark Structures of Fort Worth, Texas as the recommended contractor for completion of work on several water tanks in the North Fulton area.
Milton's Pritchard Mountain elevated water tank will be built at 16300 Freemanville Road. The tank, which is contracted to cost nearly $1.6 million, will be capable of holding 500,000 gallons of water when it is complete. The company will have 300 days to finish the work within its contract term.
In Roswell, the Hackett Road elevated water tanks project will consist of a pair of two million gallon tanks near the intersection of Crossville Highway and Hackett Road. The contract is worth nearly $5.9 million and must be completed within 540 days.
