A 24-year-old man is in custody in the Forsyth County Detention Center charged with felony murder in the death of his father.
Kevin R Puckett, 24, of 8155 Castleberry Farm Drive in northern Forsyth County, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a firearm during a commission of a crime. He is being held without bond, said Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton.
Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Castleberry Farm Drive residence at 9:17 p.m. on Friday following a 911 call from a family member. Upon their arrival, deputies found Luther Puckett, 57, dead on the floor of his residence. Investigators reported Puckett had been shot multiple times.
Investigators said that the death was domestic related. Kevin Puckett resided at the residence with his father at the time of the incident and was arrested at the scene.
Paxton said this early in the investigation the exact reason for the incident is still unknown.
