Bell running for Forsyth Commissioner
March 24, 2008
CUMMING - Patrick Bell, founder and CEO of Bowler & Blake Limited, announced today he is a candidate for Forsyth County Commission, District 4 on the Republican ticket.

"I am running to restore professionalism to the District 4 Commission seat," Bell said. "The manner in which a commissioner conducts the business of the county should reflect the way his constituents want their business enacted. As an elected official, one must never forget that the business he carries out is not his own, but rather the business of a group of citizens that elected him. Forsyth County deserves to be represented in a way that makes them confident and proud."

Bell said he plans to push for a teamwork atmosphere between the Board of Commissioners, School Board, City Government, county departments, and employees. "Too much time is spent bickering and infighting that could be better spent on the common goal of making Forsyth County a better place to live," he said.

Bell's company is a specialty apparel firm specializing in development and manufacture of woven silk ties, blazer crests and blazer buttons for such clients as the PGA of America, PGA Tour, European Tour and LPGA Championships. The organizers of the 2004 Ryder Cup Match selected Bell's design as the focal point of all graphics used at the host site.

Bell is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 254, the Etowah District Webmaster, the District Activities & Civic Service Chairman and also serves on Technology Board of the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. His 14-year-old son, Clayton, is a student at West Forsyth High School and is working on the final requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout.

Bell and wife Amy live in north Forsyth County. Their daughter Melissa is a graduate of North Forsyth High School who now makes her home in south Florida.
