2008 Forsyth County High School Track & Field Championship results

The 2008 Forsyth County High School Track and Field Championships were held March 18 at the new West Forsyth High School track stadium. All 4 Forsyth County schools competed: North, Central, West and South.

West Forsyth won the girls' meet with 108 points followed by South Forsyth (82.5 points), North Forsyth (40.5 points) and Forsyth Central (29 points).

South Forsyth claimed the boys' championship with 102 points followed by North Forsyth (73 points), West Forsyth (43 points) and Forsyth Central (42 points).

The female athlete of the meet was Lianne Muchmore of West, who won the 100m in 12.95 breaking her own school record, 200m in 26.5, 4x100 in 50.54 breaking another school record and long jump of 15'10.25.

Other notable performances included Kat Gibson of West, who won the 400 in a time of 1'00.59" (new school record and the 16th fastest time in the state for all classifications), won the 800 in 2'34" and holds the number 1 time in the state for all classifications at 2'24", anchored the winning 4x400 relay team and got 2nd in the long jump.

Allie Schiach of South, who won the 3200m in a time of 12'03", won the 1600m in a time of 5'25" and anchored the winning 4x800 relay team. Sloan Bunting of West, who won the 300m hurdles in a time of 50.46 sec, won the pole vault in height of 8' and was on the winning 4x100 team.

The male athlete of the meet was Tyler Curtain, who won the 1600m in a time of 4'33" and was on South's winning 4x400 and 4x800 teams. Other standouts included Zach Tyler of South, who won the 3200m in 10'17".

Gator Jackson from South won the 800m in 2'06". Jon Thompson from South won the 100m in a time of 11.5 and the 200m in a time of 23.79.
