The St. Francis Middle School equestrian team scored the highest points at the Holy Innocent's IEA Horse Show to win the Champion's Trophy.
"This is a huge accomplishment for our team," said Lynn Smith, team spokesperson. "Our team was formed in late November, well after the show season was underway and this win is only our fourth show as a team."
The St. Francis High School Equestrian Team has competed for several years on a local and national level under the direction of Coach Amber DeSantis. Although Coach DeSantis has had very little time with this young middle school team, she said she is thrilled they performed so well in such a short period of time.
