| | | HAYES (click for larger version) | | January 30, 2008 The Alpharetta Police Athletic League (PAL) announced Mark Hayes, co-host of Good Day Atlanta and Fox news reporter, as the master of ceremonies for the 12th annual PAL Benefit and Recognition ball at the Metropolitan Club on Feb. 1.
Hayes joined FOX 5 Atlanta as the morning news and "Good Day Atlanta" co-host in April 2002. Prior to that, he anchored Detroit's top ranked 5 p.m. newscast at WXYZ-TV. His on-air career began in Albany, at WALB-TV.
Active in his community, Hayes is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. He often travels to schools to talk to children about a variety of topics including education, self-esteem and drug prevention.
"Mark has been very active with PAL and we are excited to have him as the master of ceremonies at our event," said PAL CEO Jim Little.

Boxing coach Craig Sconion, said "Mark has been a great help to our program and we always enjoy his infectious smile and charisma in the gym."
The event will include live music by Big Swig and silent auction with all proceeds going to the PAL program. Auction items include lunch with Hayes and Suchita Vadlamani at the Fox Sports Grill, guided kayak fishing trip on Lake Lanier, deep sea fishing trip with guide Terry Joyner, African safari and many more cool items.
