Winter football combine open to graduating senior players
January 23, 2008
Graduating senior football players who are seeking a chance to continue playing in college are invited to attend a winter combine and perform in front of coaches and scouts.

The 2nd Annual Sleeping Giants 2008 Graduating Senior Football Player Winter Combine is Feb. 16 from 1-6 p.m. at the Suwanee Sports Academy, 3640 Burnette Road, Suwanee.

This combine is for the graduating high school football players who have not signed a letter of intent or been strongly recruited by colleges. This combine is also targeted towards the coaches and scouts of all D-II, D-III, NAIA, and junior colleges within a 1,000-mile radius of metro Atlanta.

Last year's combine event was exclusive to Gwinnett County. Eight of the boys attending signed college scholarships representing seven different universities.

This year, the combine has been opened to players from several counties including Fulton and Forsyth. Officials expected more than 150 players and as many as 30 college representatives to attend. Invitations have been sent to more than 95 college coaches and scouts.

Event results will be on an exclusive database for review, by coaches and participants.

The cost per player is $49. Registration is on-line at www.sleepinggiants.org. For more information call 404-326-2608 or 404-427-8430.
