Christian Youth Theater (CYT) is in rehearsal for its upcoming winter production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," set for the stage beginning Feb. 1 at The Church of Atlanta North in Alpharetta. The production comes on the heels of last season's well-received staging of "Beauty and the Beast" and features area youth performers playing the roles made famous through the "Peanuts" comic strip from Charles Schultz.

The musical performance features songs and dances by more than 50 local actors, ages 8 to 18, from more than 23 different schools in the metro area.

At the center of the performance is "Poor Charlie Brown" and what a day he is having. Join his friends, Linus, Sally, Lucy, Schroeder, and the rest of the Peanuts gang as they find out what a day in the life of Charlie Brown is like. Will Charlie Brown finally get the little red-headed girl to notice him? Will he get a Valentine? Will Lucy ever win the heart of Schroeder? Will Lucy force Linus to give up his blanket? Will Snoopy - Charlie Brown's precocious beagle - ever defeat the dreaded Red Baron? And, more importantly, will he even get fed at suppertime?

Bring the kids to find the answers to these questions in the music-filled play.

The performance dates are Feb. 1, Feb. 8 and Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.; Feb. 2 and Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Feb. 16 (family show) at 3 p.m. School day shows are set for Jan. 31 and Feb. 5 at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for kids under 18. Group rate, school day shows, and the family show are $6.

The Church of Atlanta North is at 1356 Bluegrass Lakes Parkway in Alpharetta.
