Break-in spree at High Gables East in Forsyth
January 21, 2008
Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a rash of at least 11 car break-ins that occurred between Jan. 12 and 13 at High Gables East, a neighborhood off Browns Bridge Road in Cumming.

In only about half the cases were belongings of any real value actually taken, all were small personal items or electronic goods, all were stolen from unlocked cars parked in driveways.

According to incident reports, several of the victims saw a man with dark, heavy jacket and bag walking through the neighborhood near the time of the break-ins.

That description is in line with a man spotted earlier in the week walking through the neighborhood speaking to himself or to some dogs nearby.

The crime scenes were processed but little physical evidence, save for a single piece of orange plastic left in one car's floorboard.
