The Sharon Springs War Eagles 12U Softball Team played their hearts out in their final tournament of the fall season on Saturday Nov. 17, taking the championship by one run in second of a double-elimination game that began at midnight.
The travel team played in the Georgia Softball Association Tournament at Terrill Mill Park. They stayed in the winner's bracket all day, suffering its first defeat in the championship game. The team came back at midnight and won the double elimination game 6-5 against the Georgia Rumble team.
Coaches for the War Eagles are Mike Whitlatch, Bob Baccari, Rob Maxfield and Chuck Howard.
Team members are Baylee Kennedy, Shelby Marrick, Danielle Faye, Amanda Maxfield, Abbey Michelone, Meghan Rud, Allie Baccari, Cassie Howard, Megan Whitlatch, Savannah Huffstetler and Megan Tewes.
