Landers assumes Omnilink COO post

Alpharetta's Omnilink Systems, a leader in location-based services technology, named Keith Landers as chief operating officer.

Omnilink's offender monitoring solutions are experiencing exponential growth in the judicial field because of its ability to track offenders where traditional GPS products cannot.

Previously, Landers was vice president of Client Services at Trusted Network Technologies.

Cumming insurance agent attends convention

Valerie Mote of Brooke Insurance in Cumming recently attended the company's third annual convention at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas.

The three-day event featured a variety of educational sessions, networking opportunities and keynote address by Super Bowl champion football coach Dick Vermeil.

Abbott opens Allstate agency in Cumming

The Al Abbott Agency of Allstate opened in Cumming at 308 Tribble Gap Road Site B.

Al Abbott is a former president of the Cumming Kiwanis Club, and an ambassador/diplomat with the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce. He has seven years of insurance experience and offers Allstate home and auto insurance.

Young women attend technology conference

More than 400 high school girls from around the region attended the "Young Women in Science and Technology" conference Nov. 13. Hosted by DeVry University's Decatur campus, the program explored women's role in science and technology.

Local attendees included ViAn Guan from Alpharetta High, Katie Bridges, Lindsey Nesmith, Rae Ra, Melissa Reyes, Jessica Bailey and Laura Burns from Central Gwinnett High and Gracie Kessenich from Northview High.

Riley joins Power Realty

Sylvia Riley is the newest addition to the leadership team at the Power Realty Partners office in Alpharetta.

Riley will support DeDe Edmondson in the day-to-day operations of the company and assist in the recruiting of new agents. She has been in real estate sales since 2001 and was honored by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association with a professionalism award in 2005.

Whitman joins LeasePlan USA

Buck Whitman has been appointed to the national sales vice president of LeasePlan USA. Whitman will be responsible for directing the mid-market team. His 13-year career in the fleet industry began at PHH where he was a sales representative for Manhattan and New Jersey. After four years, he was promoted to vice president, client relations for the same territory. Most recently, Whitman was with GE Fleet as vice president, financial solutions, national accounts.

KKS Solutions gets business start

KKS Solutions Inc., a corporate and non-profit events planning firm, is a new local business. Headed by Kathy Swahn, the KKS team oversees turnkey management and production of unique events. Also on board are Dorsey Vanderlip, Director of Events and Patti Mathis, Director of Operations. A grand opening of the firm was recently held at the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce offices.
