The group was treated to lunch Oct. 22 as a "thank you" for the work they do each day as bus drivers, and was part of the weeklong celebration of National School Bus Safety Week Oct. 22-26.
Each year Principal Tracy Trussell plans something special during the week to show his appreciation for the bus drivers.
"The point is to ensure our bus drivers know how special and important they really are to the school," said Trussell.
This year, 13 drivers from Creek View, along with representatives from North Transportation were treated to a limousine bus ride around Alpharetta, courtesy of Motor Classic Cars, and to local business partner, Shane's Rib Shack, for a special barbeque lunch.
From South to North Fulton, nearly 780 bus drivers work for the Fulton County School System, safely transporting 70,000 kids each day, and logging more than 10 million miles each year.
Many schools honored their drivers in various ways during National School Bus Safety Week, including Hopewell Middle School where Student Council members greeted each bus as it pulled in by waving signs and posters that they had made. Each bus driver was also given a Chick-fil-A breakfast and goodie bag filled with items provided by local business partners.
