Alpharetta, GA. Look for our stories soon about the local economy. Reports of solid business increases in the North Fulton and South Forsyth area have been circulating recently from some local companies. Appen Publisher Ray Appen reports that interviews with two area real estate agents were extremely positive. One cites 2011 as the "best year I have ever had so far... and my office has the best July in our history" and the other cited a "tremendous year so far and that local inventory in many price-points is significantly depleted." A meeting with a local restaurant owner yielded this "I've had two huge catering orders in the past week - over 400 people in each. We have had it waiting for the economy to improve and we're just going to have to do it ourselves." A third interview with a local printer resulted in "We are completely covered up. Busy, busy, busy."
In other areas locally, we're starting to see more real estate activity with construction of new homes beginning to appear in a number of areas. Nationally, major auto companies reported strong August sales.
