Fake $100 bill spotted at store

December 17, 2010
ALPHARETTA - Someone unknowingly tried to pass a forged $100 bill at a pizzeria, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's incident report.

Staff at Mangia Ristorante and Pizzeria, 5354 McGinnis Ferry Road, spotted that a $100 bill that one of their customers used to pay for a meal had Abraham Lincoln's face and a $5 watermark, instead of Benjamin Franklin. Deputies met with the customer who tried to pay with the fake bill, who told officials he was given the counterfeit note at a football game in Athens. The bill was confiscated. The customer paid for his meal.
