Duke Amendala of Alpharetta has earned placement on the Dean’s List for the summer semester of the 2009 academic year.

Cecelia Gatson Grindel, Alpharetta, received one of nine awards at the 2009 Avila University alumni recognition ceremony, held Sunday, Oct. 4, in conjunction with 2009 Eagle Days and Homecoming festivities.
Samford University
Laurel Jewell Braddy, daughter of John and Julie Braddy of Cumming, participated in a recent White Coat ceremony for members of the class of 2013 at Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
The students are beginning a four-year professional curriculum that leads to a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. They completed two or more years of undergraduate coursework prior to entering pharmacy school.

Hattie Walker of Alpharetta enrolled in SU’s The College of Arts and Sciences.
Boston University
Milton resident Rana S. Saner received a bachelor of Arts in biology, specializing in cell biology, molecular biology & genetics and art history from Boston University.
Medical College of Georgia
Amanda L Lipscomb of Johns Creek graduated summa cum laude from Medical College of Georgia on May 9, 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and is currently an RN for Atlanta Children’s Clinical Center in Buckhead.
Amanda is the daughter of John and Melissa Lipscomb of Johns Creek.
Washington Univ. in St. Louis
Dominique Shipley of Alpharetta was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2009 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.
Shipley is a graduate of Riverwood High School in Atlanta and is enrolled in the university’s Olin Business School. To make the Dean’s List in the Olin Business School, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 hours of graded course work.
