One dead, five injured in Holcomb Bridge accident
November 19, 2009
Roswell — One man is dead and a mother in the hospital after a morning crash Nov. 18 on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell just west of its intersection with Barnwell Road.

Sgt. B.C. Brackett, a spokesman for the Roswell police department, said a Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck was driving west on Holcomb Bridge Road at 8:03 a.m. when it drifted into the eastbound lane and struck a Nissan Quest minivan. In the van was a mother and her four children, ages 10 months to 7 years.

The Tacoma's driver, who has not been identified pending notification of his family, died at the scene, said Brackett.

The mother sustained "serious, but not life threatening" injuries and was taken to North Fulton Regional Hospital, said Brackett. Her four children received minor injuries as well, and were taken to the hospital to be checked out.

A third car was hit by both the minivan and truck in the aftermath of the accident, and a fourth vehicle was struck by flying debris. Neither driver was hurt, said the police spokesman.

Brackett said police at this point do not know the cause of the accident and could not say if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Keep checking www.northfulton.com for updates to this breaking story.

And I know her

What is "worse than terrible" is that he did this intentionally. It would be nice to see some follow-up on this story to find out what kind of creep would pick out a stranger and decide, "I'll take her out and her kids." He went after a mini-van. I only hope it hurt before he died.
