Golfers hit the links to benefit Peachtree Christian Hospice

(click for larger version) | | November 18, 2009 More than 70 golfers teed off on the newly renovated greens of St. Ives Country Club in a fund raiser to benefit Peachtree Christian Hospice on Oct. 19.
Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker and Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson joined in the ninth annual PCH Golf Classic festivities, along with Chuck Palmer of Palmer Dodge, who sponsored the "Hole-in-One" prize with a new Dodge Viper. This year's "Hole-in-One" event was dedicated to the memory of John King, a beloved supporter of Peachtree Christian Hospice. Other major supporters included Jim Cowart, Jim Ellis, Malon Mimms, and United Hospice.
Michael Hinterschied of Norcross walked away with the Top Gun Award for being the top fund raiser. Other top fundraisers were Carol Purdy Fields of Woodstock, John McIntyre of Duluth, Janelle Benson of Alpharetta.
This extraordinary day of golf at one of the area's most beautiful golf courses featured "select drive and two best balls of the foursome." Golfers were also treated to breakfast, lunch and an evening cocktail reception. There was an exciting array of prizes including a one-week stay at a luxury condominium in Fort Myers Beach, Florida donated by Michael Hinterschield as well as a trip to Biloxi, Mississippi including airfare and luxury hotel accommodations donated by Kent Elsbree.
