The mayor and council selected cards created by Lilah Donnelly and Rachel Hawkins of Finley Oaks Elementary School along with Jason Rifkin from State Bridge Crossing Elementary, from among 16 finalists. The designs will be alternated among the cards that elected officials send out in their capacity as city leaders.
In addition, all 16 designs will be combined into a montage for the cover of four over-sized greeting cards that will be sent to Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force units as part of the city's Founders Day observation Nov. 30-Dec. 5.
The public is invited to stop by City Hall starting Monday, Nov. 30 to sign the cards, which will also be available for signing during the "Santa at Newtown Park" event on Dec. 5.
