Veterans to observe with poppies

November 05, 2009 Alpharetta- Auxiliary members of American Legion Post 201 will wear a red memorial poppy as a sign of appreciation on Veterans Day weekend.
Volunteers will distribute poppies at the Veterans' Benefit Fish Fry at American Legion Post 201 from 1 p.m.-5pm Veteran's Day, Nov. 11. Legion Riders will have their motorcycles on display.
The 900,000 members of the American Legion Auxiliary ask every American citizen to wear a poppy on the observance of Veterans Day, Nov. 11, in addition to the entire preceding weekend.
Hospitalized and disabled veterans craft the poppies for both financial aid and therapeutic benefit.
