JROTC volunteers at fall festival
|
November 04, 2009 Johns Creek- For the past four years, the JROTC at Northview High School has volunteered their expertise, enthusiasm and time to the Shakerag Fall Carnival at Shakerag Elementary School.
They have orchestrated a booth that has become one of the most popular events at the carnival. First, a group of kids attend "Boot Camp," where they don army jackets and camouflage face paint. Then, they march to an obstacle course where they crawl, climb and jump through a variety of stations culminating in carrying the American Flag back to the start. More than 15 volunteers from the Northview JROTC donate their Saturday each year to support Shakerag, a school many of them attended.
