Northview's choral concert hits all the right notes
|
November 04, 2009 The debut performance of the Titan Tones Show Choir was a very special moment for Choral Director Barbara Moras who has waited a long time for a show choir at Northview High School.
"I think the lights, musicians and audience added to their excitement and they really got into it", said Moras. "I am so proud of them."
Moras had a lot to be proud of at the Fall Choral Concert on Tuesday night, Oct. 13, as more than 85 students under her direction performed a variety of songs from Latin Motets to Broadway musicals.
The concert consisted of performances by the Advanced Mixed Chorus, the Advanced Women's Chorus, The Show Choir, the Select Women's Ensemble and the Chamber Singers.
"The Chamber and Select Women's Ensemble (audition only groups for upper classmen) will be attending Festival Disney in March competing against schools from around the USA and Canada," said Moras. "And, all of the groups will be attending the District V Performance Evaluation in the spring," she added.
The next scheduled performance by the choral students at Northview High School is the annual dinner Cabaret show on Nov. 6 and 7.
