Flood students serve 'one drop at a time'
|
November 03, 2009 Alpharetta - Every month students from Flood, a Student Community Missions organization, are given the chance to serve many people in the community.
Flood is saturating the community with student service one drop at a time. In October, students served all over Fulton and Forsyth counties as they found projects of interest to them and signed up online with friends or by themselves.
From tutoring kids on Saturdays, assisting with a local fundraiser for a woman's pregnancy resource center, providing child care for single moms in Lifeskills classes, leading Bible classes for school-age children in an apartment complex in Roswell, playing bingo with residents in a nursing home, and more, flood students made a difference in someone's life.
Flood partners with more than 15 non-profit organizations and has students from more than 20 schools come out and serve regularly. Currently, there are 8 school chapters in the North Fulton and Forsyth County areas.
Service projects are located on the calendar section of the Web site and registration is done online. Flood is all about students serving locally and cultivating a sense of servant leadership within their students.
