Community support helps raise money for injured pup
|
November 03, 2009 Forsyth County – On Sunday Nov. 15, rescued dog Buddy will celebrate his birthday at Camp Bow Wow at 1755 Grassland Parkway in Alpharetta to raise funds for his leg surgeries.
Buddy is a small beagle mix. He was found on May 1 on the side of Highway 411, a busy fast four-lane road in Murray County.
He was with his friend, another small dog we fondly called Murray. There are no homes in the area, only thick brush and woods.
When Buddy was found, he had a broken leg and was trying to protect his running mate, Murray, who was not so lucky. Murray had been killed by a vehicle.
Once Buddy was taken to the vet, it was discovered his fracture was quite complicated and he had undergone three surgeries bringing his grand total surgery bill at just over $4,000.
Buddy's leg is now all healed. He is in a foster home with the Morris Family in Cumming, and is now available for adoption.
Meet Buddy Nov. 15 at Camp Bow Wow and learn more about the K9 Rescue and Horse Rescue Relief and Retirement Fund. For more information, visit www.savethehorses.org or call 770-886-5419.
