Teens harassed by fake cop
|
November 03, 2009 CUMMING — Two teenagers walking from the Cumming Country Fair and Festival to Dairy Queen Oct. 13 said they were harassed by a man claiming to be an undercover police officer.
The teenagers said the man jumped out of a parked Pontiac Grand Am on West Courthouse Square and called out to one of them by name. He said he was undercover and knew they had drugs on them, the youths said.
The man took both boys' wallets and said they couldn't use their cell phones. He then took everything to the car and pretended to be looking up information on them, the boys said.
After a while, the man gave everything back and told them if they used their cell phones before returning back to the fair "he would call a marked unit and arrest them."
The teens were suspicious throughout the event and got the man's name and phone number, said police.
