November 02, 2009 ATLANTA - Emory University sophomore Tim Halinski enjoyed a solid performance recently at the Quaker Invitational in Greensboro, NC.
Halinski was the second runner in for the men's cross country team, helping them to a first-place finish out of eight teams in the 8K race. He crossed the line in fifth place out of 68 runners with a time of 27:53. Halinski's fifth-place showing helped the Eagles score the 35 points that secured their win.
Halinski has been a consistent contributor for Emory this season, placing in its top seven in all five of his races this season.
On Oct. 10, Halinski and the Eagles competed in the Jacksonville State University (AL) Invite. Halinski helped pace the Eagle's to a first place finish out of seven teams as their sixth runner across the line.
He covered the 8k course in 26:27, a personal best for Halinski, and good enough for 14th out of 74 finishers.
Halinski is a 2008 graduate of Blessed Trinity.
The men's team, ranked 11th in the nation, returns to action on Oct. 31 when they compete at the UAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.
