November 02, 2009 ALPHARETTA - American Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta is hosting a day-long "Veterans Benefits and Job Fair" on Nov. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Legion Post located at 201 Wills Road in Alpharetta.
The program is aimed at veterans with disabilities, veterans in need of claims assistance, veterans who are in the job market, vets who need mortgage information, those in need of legal assistance, active duty personnel being deployed and those wanting a better understanding of federal benefits.
In addition to the post's veterans service staff, the program will feature representatives of the Veterans Administration, the Georgia Department of Labor and the banking industry.
Individuals needing more information may call the post at 770-475-9023. Veterans do not need to be members of the American Legion to seek service at the event.
According to Post Commander Bob Byrd, "We at Post 201 believe that this program will be the most effective way to celebrate Veterans Day while simultaneously providing a unique outreach to these individuals at a "one-stop shopping" opportunity for benefits and employment assistance."
