Howard Jr., said both 20-year-old Demarcus Graham and Demarkus Grier, 18, plead guilty to a host of crimes, including multiple counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, burglary, theft and weapons charges.
According to information presented in court, the first incident happened April 18 at a home on Tullamore Way in Milton. The victim found Graham and Grier exiting a bathroom near his home office where he had gone to investigate noises. They ordered him to the floor at gunpoint, then stole money, his shotgun and his laptop before fleeing the scene.
The next incident happened May 5 on Hedgegate Court in Roswell. Four men, including Grier and Graham, entered the home and encountered the homeowner's ex-husband. They robbed him at gunpoint of approximately $200 and ordered him to lie on the floor. The defendants then pointed loaded guns at the female homeowner and stole her jewelry and luxury vehicle.
In the final incident before getting caught May 31, three suspects, including the guilty pair, climbed a fence at the Golf Club of Georgia off Windward Parkway.
Once inside the neighborhood, Grier, Graham and the third man entered an unoccupied home on Ardsley Place and stole a video game system and two computers, said Alpharetta police at the time of their capture.
They then went home on Club Court, found a man asleep on the sofa and woke him up by pointing guns at his head. The victim's wife walked in on the crime and both she and her husband were ordered into their kitchen at gunpoint. The burglars stole a television, computer, jewelry and a Cadillac Escalade.
Graham and Grier left the home in the Escalade, while the third suspect drove off in his own vehicle. A Milton police officer spotted the Escalade on Ga. 400 near Windward Parkway and with the aide of Alpharetta units tried to make a traffic stop. Graham and Grier fled, racing down Ga. 400 at more than 100 mph.
Grier, who police said was driving, lost control of the Escalade on Old Bankhead Highway in Atlanta. Both he and Graham were immediately arrested as the vehicle went up in flames.
The other three suspects involved in the Roswell and Alpharetta home invasions remain at large, said Yvette Brown, a spokeswoman for the District Attorney's Office.
Grier and Graham face three counts in Forsyth County, as well — two charges of auto theft and one charge of burglary, said the Forsyth County District Attorney's Office. Those charges stem from a May 12 burglary at a home on Swiss Air Road in Gainesville.
Accused with the pair is 19-year-old Earl L. Middlebrooks, who faces the same charges. Forsyth County Sheriff's office spokesman Capt. Frank Huggins said he was arrested in June for those outstanding warrants.
