NFRH hosts wellness event

ROSWELL – Blood pressure and cholesterol checks are typical fare at most health fairs. Bingo, dancing, exercise classes, wii games, and other such fun activities are not quite so common. North Fulton Regional Hospital combined fun with health at the first annual More to Life program, a wellness event for active adults 55+ held at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park.
Attendance at the event topped 300 as people from senior living communities, senior centers, and the general community came out in groups. The first-time event included: free health screenings, such as blood pressure, bone density, body mass index, cholesterol, glucose, and hearing; fun activities, such as bingo, arts and crafts, board games, dancing, exercise classes, brain fitness, and more as well as live entertainment and a backstage tour of the amphitheatre.
