WEB EXCLUSIVE: Bogus cop apparently coming into store
October 26, 2009
A Lakeland Plaza Kroger employee called the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Oct. 17 after speaking with someone who claimed to be a deputy.

According to the incident report, the purported deputy called the store at about 3 p.m. and began asking questions about a case she was investigating involving a sexual harassment complaint against one of the store's assistant managers. The woman said she was on her way into the store to interview employees.

However, when the store tried to contact the alleged deputy again, the numbers she gave went to a fax machine and local construction company.

The case is under investigation.
