Girls had drugs, 'pimp' goes free
|
October 26, 2009 Roswell police arrested two women Oct. 14 for drug charges after investigating them and their alleged pimp for prostitution at an Old Dogwood Road hotel.
According to the incident report, members of Roswell's Crime Suppression unit had been staking out the hotel and saw three "scantily dressed" women walking around. During the stakeout, they also saw a man yelling at them in a "dismissive and belligerent" tone.
"It looked and sounded like a pimp yelling at his girls," said one detective.
That alleged pimp left the hotel with two of the girls, April Gale, 27, of Lithonia, and Peggy Sue Curfew-Westfall, 20, of Decatur. Both said they were exotic dancers, and questions about their relationship with the alleged pimp yielded different stories from everyone involved.
When they were pulled over, officers allegedly found cocaine in Curfew's bag — she said it had been loaned to another dancer who "must have put it in there" — and what appeared to be animal medicine that Gale claimed to own. The two women were arrested.
Police reported one of the two rooms rented in the hotel by the alleged pimp was filled with women's clothing and sex toys. In the car there were also business cards that featured his picture, a picture of Gale wearing only a G-string and the words "erotic massages."
The pimp collected his belongings and told police, "I'm just going to pack up our things, leave tonight and you'll never see me again."
