|
October 26, 2009 Alpharetta police arrested four Florida women Oct. 18 who had allegedly stolen nearly $11,000 worth of items from Dillard's and Macy's at North Point Mall.
According to the incident report, mall personnel called police after the women were spotted allegedly stealing Coach brand purses. A police officer spotted the crew's blue Chrysler Town and Country van and began following them, waiting for backup.
Those extra officers arrived and the foursome was pulled over in Johns Creek on Jones Bridge Road near its intersection with Jacobean Entry.
Officers reported immediately spotting Dillard's and Macy's shopping bags inside the van as well as "merchandise return" stickers. Police say the stickers are commonly used to return stolen items for cash.
The four suspects in the van, Jimmale C. Porter, 26, of Homestead, Fla., Monique R. Thomas, 25, and Shaqwana T. Stroud, 24, both of Miami, and Tamara S. Jones, 34, of Naranja, Fla., all denied stealing anything. They were all taken to Fulton County and charged with felony shoplifting and theft by receiving stolen property.
