June 24, 2009 Susan Witte Setterstrom and Ryan Mike Hodges were married at 5 o'clock Sunday evening, May 24, 2009 at the Alpharetta First United Methodist Church. The Reverend Brent White officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Jean A. Setterstrom and Dr. Herbert W. Witte, Jr. of Milton, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude M. Setterstrom, the late Lucy Margaret Taylor Witte and the late Herbert W. Witte of Huntington, W.Va.
The groom is the son of Ms. Deborah L. King Hodges and Mike M. Hodges of Hendersonville, N.C. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hodges also of Hendersonville, and Mr. and Mrs. Garland King of Flat Rock, N.C.
The bride, who wore a traditional natural white satin ballgown style wedding dress with French beaded lace inlays, a bateau neckline, and royal train, was attended by her maid of honor, Elisa Wallace of Alpharetta and matron of honor, Allison Healy Cloth, of Centerville, Va.
Bridesmaids were Cecelia Miranda of Atlanta; Aimee Frederick and Sarah Wiekel of Alpharetta; and Amanda Collins of Webb City, Mo.
The bride carried a nosegay bouquet of red, pink and white long stem roses trimmed with small pink flowers, tied together with white satin ribbon. Her something borrowed was a silver tiara worn by her matron of honor at her wedding. The bridesmaids, dressed in blue knee-length, strapless spring dresses trimmed with white sashes, carried nosegay bouquets of white long stem roses. The flower girl, Hannah Isabella Swanson, wore a chiffon over white satin, floor-length dress trimmed with a blue sash tied in a bow at the back.
The groom and groomsmen were attired in black tuxedos with single rosebud boutonnieres. The best man was Gregory Forbes Hodges, brother of the groom and groomsmen were Wasim O. Al-Abed, Matthew Calderone, Brian A. Scheewe, Jonathan D. Roper, Jay Johnson, and Brian Setterstrom Witte, brother of the bride. Gunnar Riley Setterstrom, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
A unity candle ceremony by the mothers of the bride and groom was part of the ceremony. Readings were delivered by Brian S. Witte and Brian Scheewe. Lindsay Brooke Wilkie and Brittany Lauren King were program attendants and Matthew Calderone and Landon Wilkie were ushers. John Edward Delk was the church organist.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned bachelor's degrees in English and in history. An attorney, she is a graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law.
The groom is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Asheville with a bachelor's of science degree in computer science. He is a senior network engineer for Presidio Network Solutions, Norcross.
Following a dinner and dance reception at the Atlanta Alpharetta Marriott, the newlyweds departed the next day for a week-long tour of Barvaria, Germany and a Baltic cruise from Copenhagen, Denmark to St. Petersburg, Russia. Upon return from their honeymoon they will reside in Atlanta.
