Schools want feedback Two new policies up for review
|
June 23, 2009 FORSYTH COUNTY - Parents and stakeholders will have the chance to weigh in on two new policies proposed for the local school system.
One proposed policy would allow students to carry epinephrine, a drug used to stem life-threatening allergic reactions. Legislation passed in 2002 requires local boards to adopt a policy authorizing the self-administration of "epi pens" for allergic reactions and glucagon for diabetes.
The second proposed policy would create a defined procedure on the naming of facilities. The proposed policy would see the BOE responsible for naming and renaming facilities and portions of facilities.
The proposal reads, "Names of living people and those who have been deceased less than three years will not be used."
The BOE will have the final decision for the naming of all facilities.
Both proposals are available for your feedback at www.forsyth.k12.ga.us.
