MILTON, Ga. — Milton High School Theatre's Cirque show this year is entitled "Cirque Dreyma," or "dreaming" in Icelandic.

The show promises to take audience members on a magical exploration into the realm of unbelievable spectacle.

Following a storyline that weaves in and out and back and forth between the various acts, the proprietor of the Dream Keepers' Lodge searches desperately for a very special wish made by his daughter.

The Milton Theatre Cirque shows are unique pieces of theater, and popular with audiences.

Milton is the only public high school in the country with a Cirque program.

The "audition only" class of over 70 students attracts students with various athletic and specialized skills like tumbling and dance.

Cast members also train on various apparatus including the Cyr wheel, trapeze, Chinese pole and new this year, rings and Icarian games.

Cirque professionals often travel here to work with them on mastering specific skills.

The students begin a rigorous routine of physical conditioning in the fall, and the show's story line begins development with a student planning team that generates ideas. Larry Smith, the show's director, then writes the original production.

"Cirque Dreyma" will have a total of seven performances over two weekends.

Opening night is Thursday, April 25 with shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Four additional performances are scheduled the following weekend – May 2 to May 4, with a 2 p.m. matinée and an evening show on the final day of May 4.

All evening performances will be at 7:30 p.m.
