Roswell Business Alliance (RBA) is excited for the start of the New Year. With business licenses in Roswell again on the rise, from 4,973 in 2010 to over 5,300 in 2012, we are looking forward to a year of promoting and retaining our local businesses as well as recruiting new prospects to the area.
Through continuing to grow our strong partnerships with the city and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Roswell will be primed to be a leader in the region regarding redevelopment and retention.
Promotion of Roswell's recently expanded Opportunity Zone will be key in 2013 – ensuring current and possible new businesses are aware of this incredible tax incentive. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs approved the expansion of Roswell's Opportunity Zone in August 2012. The expanded boundaries now include five additional parcels located within five specified areas, making Roswell's Opportunity Zone the largest in the state of Georgia. Expanding the Opportunity Zone is a strong instrument to advance economic development and further Roswell as a business friendly community.
RBA will continue to offer business workshops and networking events to our business partners through our Roswell Business Academy and our bi-monthly networking event, Roswell Connect. The RBA is also planning the implementation of a restaurant council as well as other councils focused on specific areas such as home-based businesses, apartment/rental associations and car dealerships. These councils, along with special events for realtors and property managers in the area, will allow RBA to work hand-in-hand with the needs of the businesses and the growth of Roswell.
