ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A veteran Alpharetta police officer has left the department after allegations surfaced about him having an affair while on duty.
Lt. Dan Dreslinski was a veteran K-9 handler and was with the department for many years.
The complaint filed by Dreslinski's lover alleged they would meet while he was on duty. Media statements by the woman say she spoke out after learning he was married.
When the complaint came in, Dreslinski was placed on administrative leave for the investigation; however, even though the investigation is ongoing, he is no longer employed with the city.
"His employment with the city has been severed," confirmed Alpharetta Public Safety Spokesman George Gordon.
Sure, it's a shame this officer had indiscretion while on duty...but give me a break. Why is this filed under 'Crime' on your site? And it's hardly news...more of a personal issue. The real harm is on the people involved. This officer was one of the best on the force in Alpharetta. Perspicacious Conservative

If this is the worse thing that a police officer does while on the "TAXPAYER DIME" then I think it should be between him and his wife. But I am really shocked that a rootin tootin gun shootin conservative would be offended about his taxpayer dollars going to such waste. Normally a self described person like that would complain about the gays and welfare recipients. Bub II

...this article is not about gays (none of my business what people do in their bedrooms) and the welfare recipients (the highest number ever under Obama as food stamp users amazingly).
Officers are paid to protect and serve while on duty, not screw the proverbial pooch...or a scorned woman in this case. Try to stay on topic, okay? I know it's a difficult mental task for emotion-driven people like you. But at least try. Your head will probably hurt less. Jason

First let me say, what Dres did was not appropriate at all however, You do not know him as a man or a cop. I believe the bible states those without sin cast the first stone. Keep the stone throwing away, everyone has made mistakes in their lives and I am sure there are more pressing items in the city than this....

The accuser has a lovely mug shot on-line from Fulton County. Should we believe anything she says? Eileen K.
