December 19, 2012
FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a woman who was found dead after her car crashed in a wooded area in North Forsyth County early Saturday morning, Dec. 15.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Cpl. David Garrison, traffic specialist unit, around 2 a.m. on Dec. 15, a passerby saw a car that had left the roadway and was down an embankment in a wooded area off of Chattahoochee Road.

The passerby called 911.

Emergency personnel found Kathryn J. Dodd, 44, of Alpharetta in Fulton County, dead at the scene.

She had been ejected from the 2005 Nissan Maxima she was driving after the car left the road and hit a tree.

She had been traveling west on Chattahoochee Road from Shady Grove Road when the car left the roadway. It went off the road on the north side and struck a tree, Garrison said.

Garrison said Dodd was not wearing a seatbelt.

No other persons were located in the vehicle. The crash is still under investigation.
